  • "Website" refers to pages accessible at this domain.
  • "Services" refers to the legal services offered by Perisai Law, as described on this website.
  • "User", "you", "your" refers to any person accessing the website or engaging our services.
  • "Engagement Letter" refers to the written agreement issued before legal services commence.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website or submitting an enquiry, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or submit enquiries through it.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use our services. By engaging us, you confirm you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

3. Nature of the Website

The content on this website is provided for general information only. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. No solicitor-client relationship is formed merely by visiting the website or submitting an enquiry form.

A formal legal relationship is established only when both parties have signed and returned an Engagement Letter.

4. Description of Services

Perisai Law offers legal services relating to pension and retirement entitlement matters in Malaysia. The three services available are:

  • Benefits Assessment (RM 155) — a structured review of pension arrangements with written output
  • Appeal & Dispute Support (RM 620) — assistance preparing and lodging an appeal
  • Retirement Planning Counsel (RM 370) — advice on protecting retirement income

Services are available to individuals resident in Malaysia or with pension entitlements governed by Malaysian law. We reserve the right to decline matters outside our scope of practice.

5. Engagement and Fees

Before commencing work, we will issue an Engagement Letter setting out the agreed scope, fee, and timeline. No work is begun without your written acceptance of that letter.

Fees listed on this website are fixed for the core service as described. If a matter develops in a way that falls outside the agreed scope, we will notify you and discuss any additional fee before proceeding. We do not increase fees without your prior written agreement.

Fees are payable in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). We will confirm accepted payment methods at engagement.

6. Refund Policy

For the Benefits Assessment, if we are unable to complete the review due to circumstances within our control, a full refund will be issued. Where work has commenced, fees are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For Appeal & Dispute Support and Retirement Planning Counsel, fees are non-refundable once substantive work has begun. We will discuss any concerns before commencing work — please raise any reservations at that stage.

7. User Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and complete information relevant to your matter
  • Inform us promptly if circumstances relevant to your matter change
  • Respond to requests for documents or instructions in a timely way
  • Not use our services for any unlawful purpose

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — text, design, layout — is the property of Perisai Law. You may not reproduce or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission. Written outputs prepared as part of our services are for your personal use in connection with the matter they relate to.

9. Disclaimer

Legal outcomes are not within our control. Advice we provide reflects our professional assessment of your situation based on the information available at the time. We do not warrant any particular result in appeal proceedings or regulatory review.

This website is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not warrant that it will be free of errors or continuously available.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from the use of our services is limited to the fees paid for the relevant service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate the engagement by written notice. Where we terminate, we will provide reasonable notice and ensure no deadlines are missed without your knowledge. Where you terminate, fees for work completed to that point remain payable.

12. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from our services should first be raised with us directly. If unresolved, the matter may be referred to the Malaysian Bar's dispute resolution procedures, and thereafter to the courts of Malaysia, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. General Provisions

  • These Terms represent the entire agreement between you and Perisai Law in relation to website use
  • If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect
  • Our failure to enforce any provision at any time does not constitute a waiver of that right
  • These Terms may not be transferred to a third party by you without our written consent

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above will reflect any revision. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
