Common Questions

Your rights, explained

Straightforward answers to the questions we hear most often.

What happens during a Benefits Assessment?

We review your current pension arrangements, any recent correspondence from your provider or the relevant authority, and identify anything that looks unclear or potentially incorrect. You receive a written note in plain language and we talk through what, if anything, you may wish to consider next. The session is calm and structured, and there is no commitment required after it.

How long does an appeal or dispute process take?

Timelines depend on the authority involved and the nature of the dispute. Some matters are resolved within a few weeks; others take several months. We will give you a realistic estimate at the outset and keep you informed as things develop. We manage the correspondence so you do not need to chase updates.

Are your fees fixed or variable?

For our Benefits Assessment and Retirement Planning Counsel services, fees are fixed as stated. For Appeal and Dispute Support, the initial fee covers the core preparation and lodging work. Should a matter become unexpectedly complex, we discuss any additional scope and cost with you clearly before proceeding — nothing changes without your knowledge and consent.

Can I come in just to ask a question, without committing to a service?

Yes. A brief initial enquiry — by phone, email, or in person — is welcome without any obligation. We can often give you a sense of whether your concern warrants further action before you decide whether to engage us formally.

Is my information kept confidential?

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of the legal profession in Malaysia and a personal commitment of this firm. Information you share with us is used only to assist you and is not disclosed to outside parties without your consent, except where required by law.

What pension matters do you typically handle?

We assist with EPF-related queries, civil service pension entitlements, pension decisions from employers or regulators, beneficiary arrangements, and general retirement income protection. If you are unsure whether your situation falls within our scope, please contact us and we will let you know honestly.
