How Perisai Law came to be
Perisai Law was established in Petaling Jaya with a particular purpose: to help individuals navigate pension and retirement entitlement matters without feeling overwhelmed. The firm's founders recognised that too many people faced decisions about their pension income without anyone to translate the technical language or manage the formal processes on their behalf.
Over the years, the firm has worked with civil servants, private sector retirees, and family members trying to understand beneficiary arrangements on behalf of a loved one. Each case has reinforced the belief that legal support in this area should feel safe, unhurried, and genuinely respectful of the person seeking it.
Perisai — the Malay word for shield — reflects what the firm tries to be: a layer of protection between a person and a system that can feel impersonal and hard to read.
Our Mission
What guides our work
We believe every person has a right to understand what they are entitled to and to have that entitlement properly upheld. Our mission is to make that process as clear and as manageable as possible — without rushing anyone, without using language that excludes, and without making clients feel that their situation is less important than it is to them.
Clarity over complexity — every explanation in plain language
Respect for the individual — no pressure, no condescension
Focused expertise — pension and retirement matters, handled well
Honest about limits — we say what we can and cannot do

Our Standards
How we conduct our work
The standards we hold ourselves to — not as a list of assurances, but as a reflection of how the firm operates day to day.
Regulated Practice
Perisai Law operates under the oversight of the Malaysian Bar. All practitioners hold current practicing certificates and comply with professional conduct rules.
Client Confidentiality
Information shared with us is protected by legal professional privilege and our own strict data handling practices. We do not share client details without consent.
Transparent Engagement
We issue a clear engagement letter before beginning any work. Fees, scope, and timelines are set out in writing so there is no uncertainty about what has been agreed.
Personal Data Protection
We comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia). Data collected is limited to what is necessary and is stored securely.
Accessible Communication
We write to clients in plain English, avoiding legal jargon where possible. When technical terms are needed, we explain them.
Continuing Development
Our solicitors complete regular continuing professional development focused on pension law, administrative appeals, and regulatory updates in Malaysia.
Expertise in Pension Law
A focused practice for an area that matters
Pension entitlements in Malaysia sit at the intersection of statutory law, employment history, and administrative decision-making. For individuals — whether civil servants approaching retirement, employees with EPF concerns, or family members acting on behalf of a spouse — the process can feel distant and hard to navigate without support.
Perisai Law brings practical experience in this specific area: reviewing pension records, assessing whether decisions have been correctly made, preparing and lodging formal appeals, and advising on longer-term retirement income arrangements. We work with clients across Selangor and the Klang Valley, and our office in Plaza Damansara, Petaling Jaya, is accessible by public transport and private vehicle.
